Shipyard-Dry Dock Program Manager

Mare Island Dry Dock, LLC is seeking a talented MARITIME - Shipyard/Dry Dock Program Managers to join our team!

MARITIME  EXPERIENCED PROGRAM MANGERS -  The Program Manager has responsibility to implement our contracts on time and on budget.  Provides ongoing support and expertise to all reporting staff and assists key people by directing and managing complex projects.  The Program Manager ensures the continued financial growth of MIDD by daily monitoring of complex operational projects. 

The Program Manager is delegated complete authority to accomplish the responsibilities, duties, goals and objectives related to getting a job done on time and within budget. Provide management and direction to all key people reporting directly to this position. Execute objectives without the undue involvement of the Operations Manager or Production Manager in day to day activities.  Prepare all supporting documentation for the set up and execution of the Job. The Program Manager is responsible for seeing the job is done Right, and according to customer needs.

Essential Functions
Negotiate and re-negotiate to meet changing contract terms via IDRs and Change Orders.

Key contact person and advocate between MIDD and the customer, ensuring that MIDD maintains a good reputation, and comes out well with all jobs.

Establishes and maintains effective procedures for gathering and analyzing information pertinent to contract management. Sets and maintains information retrieval systems that ensure against the loss of important information.

Reads and evaluates daily, all project correspondence directed to or generated by MIDD which relates to the jobs at hand and evaluates their potential impact on the company.

Updated plans are distribute both at the job site and the office within 48 hours of the updates being presented.

Cash flow of MIDD remains positive by maintaining records that support billings.

Cost/expense control of the project and monitoring of such through verbal/written reports, is reported to the Productions Manager.

Effective working relationships are established with the Project Engineer, Field Superintendents, and Foremen by providing information and materials necessary to support the requirements of the project and to better enable them to perform the functions of their jobs.

Timely planning for the acquisition of staff, equipment, tools and materials necessary to meet contractual obligations.

Maintain a superior working environment and provide additional safeguards for the safety of all employees and customers at project sites.

Jobs are completed on time and at or under budget and provides all needed reports to back this up.

 
Minimum Requirements
  • Required: With 10 Years experience in shipyard program and contract management, High School Degree or GE--Preferred: 4 year Degree in Management or related
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in ship contract repair management, including supervisory/management experience.
  • Experience with multi-function copy/scanner machines (ie: Toshiba, Konica-Minolta)
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (2013+), Office 365 Support
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Working Conditions
Normal working hours from 7am-3:30pm but may be required to answer customer service calls during evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Work sometimes takes place in wiring closets (small confined spaces), shipboard operations room (noisy environment), climbing ladder wells aboard ship and carrying equipment on and off vessels.
